For starters I built the box that this is painted on. I guess I felt the need to justify all the tools I have in the garage! This painting is a 3D experience. The box is two inches deep and is painted on all four sides making it interesting to view from all directions.

Painting for a friend

I've been painting consistently for only a year or so now but I've been taking classes of various types since middle school. For the first time I painted a piece as a gift for a friend. I didn't expect that I'd be worried about it. I want my friend to enjoy it...did he? He said so and I believe his but there's a nugget of doubt.
